The Girls Giveth Back, Alright

The Girls Giveth Back, Alright by Roxanne McDonald

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket Saaphyri gives what little she has; Leilene gives up the last heirloom of her dead mother; and Larissa and Shay give it to Schatar.

I can’t wait till this last giving effort is revealed. Did Larissa and Shay not remember their every move is being televised?

Whoooo, doggie.

Okay, so this week, the Charm School girls are to learn the 7th commandment: Though shalt payeth it back.

Brooke thinks it has to do with working on the side of the road with the prisoners.

Mo explains that being fortunate means to give the clothes…off their backs—to a local charity thrift shop called Out of the Closet. Each will grab all they can to give up, will do so with one teammate, will take the possessions to be valued, and will then have a running total. The lowest total will see that team on the carpet.

Schatar and Darra team up.
Becky and Saaphyri team up.
Leilene and Brooke team up.
Shay and Larissa team up.

Mikki checks in as the girls are going through their

belongings, and Saaphyri is sad, as she has so little to begin with. Mikki is kind and tells her it is not the amount she gives but the quality of the giving spirit.

Becky is happy and proud to be working with Saaphyri.

Keith makes his rounds, and stopping at Leilene and Brooke’s packing efforts, expresses concern that Leilene’s stripper stuff—what others call the skanky stuff—won’t sell. So Leilene desides to go for the most valuable thing she has…her dead mom’s rings.

Brooke is concerned, too. She thinks the rings will put their team in the lead, but worries that irreplaceable items shouldn’t be sacrificed.

At the charity clothing shop, Shay tries to negotiate, but badly.
Schatar’s sniffy presentation of her “couture” gowns is met with a sniffing of stuff that smells funny, the shop co-caretaker says.
Darra also tries to bargain, as she is from New York and can’t help it.
Saaphyri’s pitiful pile gets rejected, mostly, until the guys get to the Ugg boots and offer her 20 bucks. She gets so dejected that she grabs all her stuff and storms into a corner of the store to cry and blow her nose on a chiffon number hanging on a rack.

Keith is concerned that Becky is not concerned, and reminds her that the team effort is important, here. Becky says that’s why she is selling every single thing she can. Then Saaphyri gets a message from above or somewhere, hearing the phrase “team effort” in her head, and returns to the counter to give up the few items they would take.

She had tried to make amends, she said. But on the bus, when she spies the customer leaving with her boots, she can’t quite give up, and runs to the woman to ask her how much she paid for them. The woman proudly exclaims that she paid 20 and they’re Uggs!

You can hear Saaphyri saying in her head, “No shit. MY UGGS.”

Saaphyri is really wrecked over this, especially so when Darra offers a whole suitcase full of stuff as charity to Saaphyri, who is not only appalled that Darra has withheld stuff from charity but is insulted to be treated like a greater charity case. She takes this anger out on Darra first, calling her a fake fat ass, then takes her continued dejection and frustration to Mo.

Not only has she felt demeaned, devalued, by the pricers at Out of the Closet, but she has lost what very little she had.

Mo connects the pain to Saaphyri’s territorialism over beds in the Flavor of Love Mansion, and is super supportive and loving in response: she tells Saaphyri to never give someone else power over her, and tells her she loves her. Saaphyri feels better. So do we. This was really hard to watch. Like the poor kids being told by Mom they were going to give all they had at Xmas to those less fortunate—if that’s even possible.

Oh, yes, the challenge results were announced before this (so you know Saaphyri was not just being manipulative).

This is how Mo broke it down:

Schatar and Darra gave up 641 dollars’ worth of stuff.
Becky and Saaphyri team up gave up 868 dollars’ worth.
Leilene and Brooke gave up 823 dollars’ worth of stuff.
Shay and Larissa gave up 871 dollars’ worth of stuff.
There’s a minute of whoo hooing, then Mo continues, saying that Shay and Larissa’s number is making them the winners…until…Leilene gave up her mother’s rings, which went for 90 dollars and which put Brooke and Leilene in first place, with 913 dollars.

They get to choose one other team to enjoy the shopping spree at Forever 21. They pick Darra and Schatar, Brooke reasons, to avoid drama and because they were the only ones to congratulate them.

The choice and the reasoning piss off everyone else: Saaphyri, likely feeling slighted, says Darra can’t even fit into Forever 21 clothes; Shay says that Brooke and Leilene are selfish whores—for not choosing the ones who gave away everything they had.

While the shoppers are gone, Larissa and Shay have a brilliant idea for yet another way to payeth it back: the it being competitive theft Schatar got away with in the first episode, the payback being a simulation of that theft, one which would point to Schatar as the criminal and which would get her expelled.

Larissa and Shay steal Leilene’s pictures of her mom and kid(s). They stash them under Schatar’s mattress.

As soon as the shoppers return, or maybe because of good editing it is so immediate, Leilene immediately sees the pics are missing. She calmly notifies and queries each of the girls. As she does so to Larissa and Shay, and after she leaves, they both just laugh demonically.

Leilene finally finds the pics, accuses Schatar, has Schatar trying to call it a set-up and feeling wounded because she thought Leilene was a friend and how could she, and how Schatar is so sick of living in a house with hookers and whores, etc., and voila, session number two in Mo’s headmistress quarters.

Mo says they can only go on assumptions and tells Leilene to keep those pics close cause there’s a thief in the house. She also tells them this will all be taken into consideration for the elimination.

Schatar tells us she thinks Leilene did it herself.

Expulsion Time: Darra and Schatar brought in the least amount of money, so that was easy enough to decide. Mikki says Darra gave as little as possible, and generosity was eclipsed by self-interest. Keith is not sure of Schatar’s strategies, he says, and while she may have intended quality over quantity, either she was lying or didn’t grasp that polyester is not considered high-quality. He adds that they both missed the mark, missed the lesson; and Mikki concludes with a warning to not let possessions possess them.

Mo, however, says they will do things a little differently (again), and after asking every girl if she stole the pics, explains that while they have no proof whatsoever (the cameras, Mo!, the cameras!), history reveals Schatar as a thief.

And that means BOTH Schatar and Darra have to go. Darra is bummed because she has so much more to learn (and hoped to learn from her mistakes she was about to make, or something), and Schatar promises that whoever really took the picks will be payethed back!

Man, I wish I were there when Schatar watches the tapes. Wait, what am I saying? There will probably, most likely, be a reunion show. Get those dukes up, girls.
