The Ex List Shouldn’t Work - but it does!

I like the Ex List! Cool and hip - the Ex List works as a cutting edge big network comedy without a studio audience dumbing it down.

The Ex List star Elizabeth Reaser shines as Bella Bloom, a smart yet quirky flower shop owner that is in search of the “one” that got away.

A psychic taunted her by telling her she’d only get married if she finds her EX and does it in the next year.

Perfect food for the writers to bring us many zany antics like you’d expect from a network comedy. This one really works though as it not only is funny but it takes themes that usually don’t make it onto network shows and puts them at the forefront.

For example in the season opener, the pilot, we see BElla’s friend is distraight because she shaved her beaver bald (showed it to Bella onscreen) and her fiancee doesn’t like it. Apparently he likes hairy pubic areas and there is friction between the 2 lovers… Sorry to be dirty… but that’s the kind of bleeding edge stuff you’ll see on the show. That’s good!

In fact, I’d go so far as to say this is the most refreshing comedy to show up on network tv since Action with Jay Mohr.

Only Jerks can win Big Brother - not!

TV Robot Article on Big Brother 10 Season Finale by Mike Liebner

Father Dan was a nice guy… possibly too nice to win Big Brother.

Before the finale I’d have bet that Dan was TOO NICE to win Big Brother, but since we saw Dan come out victorious, he showed I was way off target!

Congratulations Dan! You are the winner of Big Brother 10! You da man!

The fact that Father Dan won CBS Big Brother 10 says a lot about the supposed need to be a jerk to win Big Brother. As we saw in the BB10 finale, the jury of Big Brother may not have thought Dan was cunning or sneaky, they did respect the way he played the game and since he was nice to them all, they still liked him at the end.

Nice guys can win!
We saw how Memphis made a few moves that pissed people off and it prevented him from winning any votes. Dan got all of the votes even though the jury blamed him more than Memphis for their leaving the game! Dan was a great game player! He deserves to win Big Brother!
I am sad to see the season over… it’d be nice if we had some PAST SEASONS on DVD to hold us over - but hey - the producers of Big Brother on CBS obviuosly have their reasons for not releasing past seasons. I just wish I knew what those reasons were. The one season they did release (season 3???) was great fun to watch. Sure, it had production issues and did not comapre to the newer sseasons, but hey - it was fun none the less!
Give us the first few seasons so those of us that are new to Big Brother can see how it all started!

30 Rock Welcomes Oprah Winfrey!

NBC’s Emmy-winning sitcom 30 Rock will have Oprah Winfrey as guest-star on their Nov. 6 episode, the network had announced last Tuesday. Oprah Winfrey, 54, filmed her role last Saturday at the Silvercup Studios in Queens, N.Y., and it is being billed as one-shot appearance.

“Oprah Winfrey’s presence on 30 Rock makes this episode a television event,” Teri Weinberg, executive vice president, NBC Entertainment, said in a statement. “She is a true legend in her own time, and in this comedy’s tradition, it provides the perfect showcase for stars of her renowned status. Eric McCormack Of Will And Grace Auctions Porche From Show

Will and Grace lead actor Eric McCormack is auctioning his Porsche to all Will and Grace fans out there! So get ready and bring up your best wallet forward (lol). This Porsche was given to the actor as a gift from the network on the success of the sitcom’s first season last 1999. All the other costars including Debra Messing, Sean Hayes and Megan Mullally also received Porsches from NBC.

The auction of the silver Porsche – starting bid: $23,100 – will benefit Project Angel Food, a meal-delivery charity serving people with AIDS and other debilitating illnesses.

“It’s not just a part of Will & Grace lore – this car is a part of television lore,” says McCormack, adding, “there’s somebody out there that would really appreciate knowing it was the car I drove every day to the lot.”

The online auction, available at charityfolks.com, ends at 3:15 PM EST Friday. Its current asking price “is incredibly close to the car’s actual Blue Book value!” notes McCormack. “Not a bad price to get a car and a piece of TV history.”

And if a lucky Los Angeles native wants the car? “If the winner lives in L.A., I’ll drive it to them personally,” he says. “And of course, I’ll autograph DVDs of Will & Grace.”

Deal or No Deal Met Its Match First One Million Winner

Deal or No Deal met its first one million dollar winner. After three seasons with no jackpot winner, Deal or No Deal met its match one week into season 4 with 27-year-old Jessica Robinson. The pregnant stay-at-home mom became the show’s first-ever million dollar winner when she picked the lucky briefcase on Monday’s show.

The Sandy, Utah, native, who’s expecting a boy at the end of September, tells PEOPLE that she had a winning strategy from the start. “All along I knew I wanted to pick briefcase number four because there’s soon going to be four people in our family. It just made sense,” she says, noting that she had the support of her family and friends.

Fifteen contestants in the show’s history have chosen million-dollar cases, only to change their minds as the game went on. But not Robinson, who even turned down the banker’s final offer of $561,000.

“Honestly, if my case had $200,000 in it I would have regretted it,” Robinson admits. “I talked to my supporters and surprisingly, as I think back, they were crazy for telling me to go forward! But they knew my plan and it was coming true.”

Robinson, who watched the telecast with family and friends in Utah, says she plans to put her prize money toward a new home for her family. Plus, she’ll “buy toys for my kids from toy stores instead of garage sales” and help her husband start his own business.

Best of all, she says, is the “peace of mind” the money has helped her get. “I’m a stay-at-home mom and I know I contribute to my family, but there are times I feel I don’t contribute because I’m not getting a paycheck, and at the end of the day, I’m the spender,” she says. “This will take the burden off [of my husband] being the breadwinner and taking care of us.”

Gossip Girl’s Nate Archibald - A Good Kisser

Madchen Amick has been so lucky after all. The actress, who plays Nate Archibald’s (Chace Crawford) mature and beautiful love interest on Gossip Girl, has a steamy make out scene with the 23-year-old. And that’s just in the first five minutes of the show’s season two premiere!

Luckily, she’s not above kissing and telling. “He’s a very good kisser,” Amick, 37, says. “If anyone gets the opportunity to kiss him, he will not disappoint.”

The season premiere of the CW show, which airs Monday (8 p.m. ET), catches up with Nate and his fellow privileged pals, Serena (Blake Lively), Blair (Leighton Meester), Chuck (Ed Westwick), Dan (Penn Badgley) and Jenny (Taylor Momsen), at the end of the summer season. (more…)

Big Brother’s Father Dan is outsmarting himself.

TV Robot Exclusive Article on Big Brother 10 by Mike Liebner

Is Father Dan outsmarting himself by rationaliziing why he does things? He may be fooling himself…

OK, I am trying to cut the guy some slack for his crutch of extreme religinousness, but Father Dan is starting to get on my nerves.

We just saw Dan win Big Brother’s coveted Head of Household honors but at the expense of cutting a stupid deal with Ollie. Basically Dan gave an assurance that Michelle would not be evicted and gave Ollie 1 of the 2 picks for selection of evictees and also gave Ollie the power of veto selection.

Basically Dan gets to put up one houseguest for eviction and that’s it.

Poor Memphis got the brunt of this blunder as Dan put him up for eviction along with Jerry. Ollie selected Memphis and Dan honored his deal. I was hoping this would be one of those back stabbing Big Brother moments and that Dan would back out of his promises to Ollie. After all, who could blame him for renigging on a deal that was simply too stupid for prime time… this deal could cost Dan the game as he may be helping evict the ones who would keep him and his crew in the game. CBS Big Brother is Great This Season!

TV Robot Exclusive Article on Big Brother 10 by Mike Liebner

Wow, I must say I am really impressed this season with how good Big Brother 10 is.

The whole CBS Big Brother experience seems much better than last fall which seemed to be thrown together haphazardly and not really embraced by the producers (or the CBS Early Show).

CBS Big Brother is Great This Season!

Best show on tv this Summer!

Everything seems just right - everything from the casting, to the new live audience format for the eviction ceremonies (on Thrsday nights) to the extras we’re getting such as REGULAR appearances by Julie and the houseguests on the CBS Late Late Show with Craig Fergusan are welcome additions this season.

Craig has a blast with the houseguests! What a great idea! I’m a big fan of his and he is perfect for this!

Also back are the morning segments on the CBS Early Show each Friday with Julie Chen featuring more from the most recent evicted houseguest.

While I would prefer that the Early Show segments were LIVE the morning after, instead of recorded the night before - I guess it’s ok that they tape them the same night as they were evicted.

I must say I do prefer the old format where the evicted houseguests have had a good nights sleep (or not) to think about things instead of a continued interview minutes after getting shafted. Reflection the day after is much different than the way they must feel just minutes after getting booted form the Big Brother House!

Nashville Star Winner Melissa Lawson Brings Home A Toyota Tundra!

Monday night as crew members of the show of the sixth season of Nashville Star pushed a big red Toyota Tundra pick-up truck onto the stage during a commercial break, the two remaining contestants stood, hoping to hear their name called by host Billy Ray Cyrus. Would it go to Tex-Mex electrician-turned-musician Gabe Garcia or Mellisa Lawson, a wife and mother of five boys? As it turns out, Lawson, 32, got the keys to the truck and the ticket to a recording contract with Warner Bros. Nashville. Garcia was disappointed about the pick-up, telling PEOPLE magazine after the show, “I really wanted that truck. I was already thinking about how I was going to jack it up and trick it out.”

Still, Garcia was relatively satisfied with his second place finish and thrilled by the experience of competing on Nashville Star. “It’s been a great ride, from beginning to end,” he said after the show, still picking strips of silver confetti out of his hair. “But I’m looking forward to getting back to my own life for a few days. I haven’t made my own bed or driven myself in two months.”

Big Brother’s Keesha is a dumb blonde!

Keesha is kinda cute - in a strange kind of way - but her looks are about all she’s got going for herself. She’s a bit ditzy.

Loyalty in a game like Big Brother is not usually part of a winning strategy.

Losers are loyal!

I think I’m down on her today because she keeps doing stupid things. For example the house had a perfect opportunity to get conceited muscle boy Jessie and evict him - but Keesha gets what Keesha wants - and the houseguests vote to evict Angie - just like Keesha wanted.

Now, you could tell that the house would have preferred to vote out Jessie while they had him on the block. But for some reason Keesha is threatened by Angie. Anyone with half a brain would know that Jessie was more of  a threat. He could win endurance competitions or challenges requiring muscles, while Angie was no real threat - either physically or from a power or mental or strategy standpoint. In fact - it is so obviuos Jessie is the powerful leader of his pack and Angie WAS just a follower looking for any way to stay in the house.

If Angie stayed in the game, it’d almost be a guarantee that Keesha would not get put up for eviction very soon. At least she could have bargained with Angie. Jessie on the other hand is definitely going for Keesha or one of her supposed loyal friends. (more…)

Big Brother’s Gay Rodeo Circuit

By Mike Liebner, www.TVRobot.com

6 episodes, two evictions and

16 days into Big Brother 10

and I must say I love it!

Big Brother is still the best reality TV show on television! The staple reality TV show Big Brother consistently delivers a breath of fresh air and is as fun to watch as ever. While Big Brother 10 may have it’s weaknesses and a few ups and downs, it still is the top must see reality TV show! If you’ve been missing out, you better get in on the action while it’s still early!

This season Big Brother 10 is stirring it up and giving us a live studio audience for it’s weekly eviction episodes. While I admit I sometimes try to resist change from the things I know and love, it does work very well and the studio audience doesn’t hamper Julie Chen’s ability to carry out the eviction ceremony successfully.

In a vote of 9 to 0, the 2nd eviction ceremony has put an end to Big Brother’s “Gay Rodeo Circuit”.

The BB10 houseguests evicted the so called gay rodeo competitor Steven, thereby keeping in the other guy on the chopping block, religious and oliy haired schoolteacher Dan.

Now back to this alleged GAY RODEO CIRCUIT

On the show and on the web page for Steven he is referred to as “Steven is a geographic consultant by day and a rodeo cowboy by night. He is a champion bull rider in the gay rodeo circuit.”…

Hey ya’ll, is there really a “gay rodeo circuit” as they refer to it, or is Steven just a gay bull rider in a straight rodeo circuit??? These things confuse me, but regardless, Steven was a genuinely nice guy and I’m glad that religious schoolteacher Dan (also on the block) could see him as more than just “gay Steven” (Dan’s own words). Gossip Girl Fresh And Sexy Ads For Season 2

The new season ads of Gossip Girl will raise eyebrows again, for sure. They have use the negative comments of organizations and tabloids for their racy ad campaign. I’m sure critics will be talking about this new ads with punch lines like; “Every parent’s nightmare,” “Mind-blowingly inappropriate, ” “Very bad for you,” and “A nasty piece of work.”

And it’s precisely those words that are being used to promote the show’s new season on ads that feature the shows stars — Blake Lively, Chace Crawford, Leighton Meester and Ed Westwick — in super sexy poses and scandalous situations.

Check out the other ads of the TV show Gossip Girl Season 2:

CSI Dropping Off Their Chief Character

Evidently it’s all gotten to be a bit much for Crime Scene Investigator Gil Grissom. Or, it will.

Addressing it an de facto signoff instead of yet another sabbatical, EW.com reports that William Petersen will be exiting CSI sometime midseason.

“Billy is leaving,” series administrator producer Carol Mendelsohn stated. “But he will remain throughout the run of the series an executive producer. And he will, whenever CBS asks, come back. I don’t think you’ve seen the last of Gil Grissom.”

“My biggest problem with leaving the show at any point isn’t leaving Grissom,” said Petersen, whose preceding leave came up when he took five weeks off-duty to do theater in Rhode Island. “I’m an actor, it’s time to do other things. “[The hard part will be saying goodbye] to the cast and crew. [So] I’m going to stay as involved as I’m allowed to be throughout the remainder of this show. Until they turn off all the lights.”

Petersen’s departure will mark the ripest blow to the procedural’s primary principal lineup, which lost Jorja Fox and Gary Dourdan last season—although both will be making appearances in coming installments (one later than the other).

Tila Tequila’s Been Rejected By Her Shot Of Love

At the finale of Tila Tequila’s A Shot Of Love Season 2, the bisexual Tila had a very twisted ending in the story. She was dumped by no other than Kristy Morgan whom she gave a chance for her shot of love. What sad finale for the Internet savvy girl.

She was made to choose between the last two contestants, potential boyfriend Bo and Kristy, when she dismissed Bo after he did his best to use his body heat to melt a block of ice to get to “Tila’s heart” frozen in the center. “I’ve been calling Tila my girlfriend for a long time now,” a heartbroken Bo told the cameras. “I really do love Tila. You always get your Bo-bear.”

However, after a steamy make out session with Kristy in the hot tub, Tila was surprised when Kristy rejected her final key. “You love that I’m honest and that I’m true to my feelings and true about who I am,” Kristy told a teary Tila. “If I take this key, I’m not being true.”

“Why would you do that now?” Tila asked. “Why would you put me through all this process… I feel humiliated.”

Idol’s Kristy Lee Cook Signed A Record Deal

Kristy Lee Cook, one of the fan favorite American Idol contestant  of season 7 has sgned a record deal with a country music label. She was one plucky cowgirl who braved Simon Cowell’s barbs week after week on Idol!

Cook, the seventh place finisher whose performance of the Beatles’s “Eight Days a Week” was compared to “Dolly Parton on helium” by Cowell, had positioned herself as this year’s country artist on Idol, singing selections from Martina McBride and Lee Greenwood. Now, she’ll be a label mate of the show’s most famous country star, Carrie Underwood, after signing with 19 Recordings/Arista Nashville.

Cook, a 24-year-old native of Selma, Oregon, will release her first single, the up-tempo “15 Minutes of Shame” on August 11 and she’ll record her album (produced by Brett James, one of the songwriters behind Underwood’s hit “Jesus Take the Wheel”) between Idol tour dates. Her album is expected to be released this fall.

Idol Runner Up Blake Lewis Dropped By Arista Records

American Idol season six runner-up Blake Lewis was dropped by his label Arista Records. He says its no big deal.He recalled the conversation on his My Space Blog, “Ring, ring, ring went the phone. Iain my manager baring the news. Arista isn’t picking up the second option,” “Meaning, I’m not doing another record with them. I’m totally fine with this.”

Though he was a fan favorite on the American Idol show, the move comes after disappointing sales — roughly 300,000 copies sold — since Lewis released the album Audio Day Dream last Christmas.

“I guess the right time was now,” he writes. “No biggy.”

He is, at least, in good company. Past Idol winners Taylor Hicks and Ruben Studdard, and fellow runner-up Katherine McPhee, also lost their deals with Arista Records.

Big Brother 10 on CBS starts in July

Big Brother 10 starts up again July 13, 2008

I wonder if this next season of Big Brother will be better than the last one this past winter??? I have great expectations for Big Brother 10 on CBS!

I also wonder if the Early Show will be interviewing the ejected houseguests like they used to do? They did not do that this past winter for some reason… nor did they do the usual Survivor interviews.

Well, I sure could use something decent on tv to watch! Big Brother 10 might just be the ticket!

David Cook Dating Ex-Idol Kimberly Caldwell

American Idol winner David Cook had already found his love interest after the Idol finale last week on the person of ex-Idol contestant Kimberly Caldwell. During an interview on “Idol Tonight” last week, Cook said to Caldwell “I’m just excited because I finally get to talk to you.”

TMZ caught up with the couple after their dinner date Monday night. David Cook who is not entirely accustomed to the paparazzi, took it all in stride. He appeared collectively cool, as always, and was polite to those invading his privacy. When asked if the world would be seeing more of the couple Cook paused, then smiled, then said, “Probably, yeah.”

So Cook fans I guess you can stop swooning over Mr. Idol cause he’s absolutely hooked up now with Kim Caldwell.

Some fast facts about Kimberly Caldwell:
