Do you love to watch Network TV Show Series?
If you love to watch a good network tv show series as much as I do – you’ll enjoy the article I just wrote on TV Shows and the New Paradigm of watching the way we want to!
There is no question that tv is being made as good as it ever was. The production value of many network shows rivals that of big budget motion pictures!
You can’t help but dig that!
Do you watch tv live?
Wouldn’t you rather timeshift?
I have some friends who are reluctant to start recording shows on DVR’s and watching the way they want them.
They seem to think it’s ok to be slaves to the networks and change their schedules or perhaps miss shows.
I can’t say they’re crazy because I know a lot of people don’t take recording from satellite tv or downloading tv shows as seriously as I do BUT I do know that if they would give in and experience the freedom that DVR’s and Downloading of TV Shows offers us – they’d never sit through a bad block of tv commercials again!
I’m Bored To Death
I’m bored to death with what is on TV these days. It gets especially bad during the holidays when it seems that some big red rerun button is pushed or the Fall Season ends and new episodes stop showing.
Do the Neilson ratings even matter anymore? I mean why should there be certain periods of time such as sweeps when there is too much good stuff on and other times when you can’t even find a decent new show to watch.
I hate to rant about how tv sucks because I like watching television so much – but hey – face it – the way they force feed us what they want when they want SUCKS!
Some day soon we won’t have to put up with the way networks schedule their shows. I imagine a time when they will release product much like they do DVD’s or albums.
Sure, there will always be some kind of seasonality – I realize that – but there needs to be less of the force feeding we must endure from those who have power over what we watch.
And there is another disturbing trend that really rubs me the wrong way. The mini-series effect.
I mean – hey – they just don’t give us full seasons of shows anymore, do they? (more…)
Bristol Palin – winner of Dancing with the Stars?
Uhh… You mean that Bristol Palin – she could be the winner of Dancing with the Stars? Oh my lordy! What is going on with this world!
I don’t mean to be disresepectful but she’s kind of chubby and dances like a muppet. (I did mean that!)
I only see her as being a oddity and curiousity figure for viewers. I hope she is not credited as an ultimate victor and put on a pedestal with other Dancing Iwth The Stars winners. And c’mon – she’s not even a star… (more…)
Look the Series on Showtime Kicks Butt!
Wherever you go – you are being watched by hidden cameras.
![]() |
Wow – Showtime really nailed it with this new show called LOOK! |
Look the series on Showtime reels you in and makes you feel like you’re a part of disturbing peeping tom like activities that are going on all around us all the time!
Who would ever believe that an episodic tv series shot to emulate the look and feel of low budget security camera footage could be SO GOOD!
Look on Showtime is not only good – it’s brilliant (that means great!).
It takes the concept or REALITY TV and amplifies that 100 fold by making you feel like you are a part of the action.
It’s about 3 or 4 weeks into the new series and seems to be revealing new episodes weekly. How long they’ll come out with new episodes – who knows! I hope a long time! It’s great!
Look for yourself >>>
Watch clips and see for yourself
It’s so realsitic you (or me) constantly forget that is it’s more than just hidden camera footage and they have complete storylines and plots developed that force us to follow and become acquainted with characters whom at first sight appear to be random.
But things develop and the realism of the raw looking footage makes us forget that Look the Series on Showtime is more than just dressing room camera footage and such.
Especially notable in the cast is Giuseppe Andrews, who plays a mini mart dude who plays his original music while all manner of crazy stuff happens. He does a a Myspace announced concert and the mini mart is taken over by people who come to watch him perform. The music is hooky and catchy and really good. I find myself humming the tunes after just one listen. They should consider a soundtrack release with the music!
Well that sums it up in a nutshell. You absolutely must check it out!

I do not care who won Big Brother
OK – so Hayden won. Big deal.
![]() |
OH NO – summer is over and so is Big Brother! |
If Lane or Enzo would have won I would have said the same thing.
I just did not care if any of the BRA-gade (should be brigade, right?) made it to the end.
It’s not that I disliked them – I just found all 3 of them to be boring.
Enzo had some moments being the jackass he was – so at least he had character and was a little unique.
Lane and Hayden had to force the words out and as a result were boring to watch.
Matt – the brains of the brigade was conceited and arrogant – so he was at least fun to see make an ass of himself.
And Britney – while opinionated and mean spirited towards other women-folks, was a breath of fresh air and fun to look at. OK, she was hot! I dug the way she looked and her quirky personality grew on me. (more…)
Big Brother 12 is Back on CBS (but not in HD)
HEY! SUMMER has OFFICIALLY STARTED!
![]() |
That must mean that Big Brother 12 on CBS is here! |
I have watched the first 2 episodes of Big Brother 12 on CBS (last Thursday’s premiere and Sundays followup episode) and am very satisfied with the casting of the houseguests and the premise.

It looks like it will be a fun season! They even introduced a new “sabateur” which half of them can’t pronounce. I guess that means we should expect a fair dose of sabotage!
I’ll be writing more of my thoughts on the cast after I have had a chance to properly digest who they are and what they’re about. So far I am having trouble with 2 of the contestants… I do not care for Kathy and Andrew. Either of them could be the sabateur – although my money is on Andrew. If he’s not the sabateur – he’s just too weird. I’ll share more impressions in the next follow up article!
I need to get one BIG GRIPE out of the way – but don’t let my mini rant thwart your potential enthusiasm for the show.
I’m a big fan indeed – but I am also big enough to need to shout out to CBS and hopefully they may hear and finally get with the times and give us a season of Big Brother that is in HD – High Definition!
That’s right – can you believe it – Big Brother has not yet changed it’s old camera equipment to give us a season of Big Brother in High Definition.
Heck – even the Late Late Show with Craig Fergusan is in High Definition.
If they can spring the extra bucks and shoot Craig’s talk show in HD – can’t they rig up the Big Brother house with HD Cameras??? (Craig’s show is the best talk show on tv by the way – it’s great to have it in HD!) (more…)
What Happened on the Lost Finale?
It’s the morning after the big night of the Lost tv show finale.
I have to say, this is hard to admit, but last night’s Lost TV Finale last episode had a huge impact on me. It’s like I now have Lost engrained in my brain whether I want to or not. My brain activity is going nuts and all I can think about are bits and pieces that are coming to me now about what happened on Lost last night.
I am wondering what did it all mean and what was the ending trying to say and does that mean THIS and THAT and oh my gollee… I can’t stop!
Apparently I am not the only one because when I turned on my notebook this morning and I saw the “Google Hot Trends” keywords that people are searching for – I noticed I am not the only one with LOST on my mind.
9 out of the top 20 were searches for lost keywords and 1 additional on purgatory – most likely that one was because of Lost.
3. lost finale explanation
4. lost alternate endings
7. jimmy kimmel lost q and a
8. lost series finale theories
10. lost explained
11. lost review
14. lost answers
15. lost wiki
17. lost blog
19. purgatory
I don’t think I have ever had a tv show that provoked this much thought. During the regular season and now becuase of the massive Lost TV I absorbed last night.
I mean hey – think about it… They started with that 2 hour retrospective where they went back to the beginning and explained what had happened along the way towards the end and included some thoughts from cast members and producers (why don’t we ever see JJ Abrahams talking about it by the way???).
Then after those 2 hours I was thrust into the final episode which ran 2 1/2 hours long… 150 more minutes as we watched Lost draw near to it’s final conclusion.
Now – aside from the show being great last night and the ending being satisfying – face it – 4 and 1/2 hours on any topic and your head will be buzzing. But add to that how much of an impact this kind of even has on those of us who are deeply connected to the show and the characters.
Now – I could have gone on and watched the Jimmy Kimmel show where they revealed the alternate endings (three of them?) but I was just too LOST-out… I watched the news which had MORE Lost cast members interviewed and then went to bed thoroughly exhausted and mentally beaten up. (more…)
The Apple iPad Sucks (still!)
Sorry, but the Apple iPad sucks (still) – especially apparent after watching this video clip from InfoMania on Current TV!
Apple sucks once again and is planning world domination again… This time they want to take Adobe Flash away from us…
Man, I still can’t believe iPad won’t support Flash…
That’s insane.
Jobs claims battery life using flash would be 1 hour of use versus non-flash 10 jours per battery…. uhhhh… ok. I beleive you Steve Jobs.
Jobs – flash will murder the ipad – really now lets be realistic
Can we not just all be SHEEP and let Apple know they can’t force this stuff down our throats.
Almost all web sites use FLASH to show video content (I do!) – that means you can’t see thevideos on the web pages UNLESS the sites change to a format Apple approves of (most likely their own I bet) (more…)
Spartacus: Blood and Sand – Best Show Ever!
Spartacus: Blood and Sand on Starz is the best show on TV… errr… it was! It’s first season is now over and I will long for the way they spoke despite having oneself lots of misery with their odd manners and such.
But funny language quirks aside – that show should have been called Spartacus: Blood and Guts and Boobs because it showed more spatter in slow mo and more body organs strewn about than any other show I have seen. I just love the fact they dis not hold back in any manner.
And it was not gratuituis violence or sex. It all made sense and helped portray the time and the period with impact.
I saved the last final episode of the season to watch again as it was just that good! I’m saving it for when my blood lust gets out of control. (more…)
Southland Mini Series on TNT – what?
Southland the tv show, formerly of NBC – now on TNT is a great show! It’s the best crime drama tv series out there. But what the hell is TNT doing with it?
It’s not much of a series – I’d say more like a mini series.
Mini Series have more episodes that what TNT did with this Southland show.
OK… this is what confuses me and gets my goat.
In February Ben McKenzie was doing the talk show circuit and says it’s back and the new Southland season starts on TNT with a premiere tonight.
Hmmm… that came out of nowhere, but hey – I liked the Southland show from it’s handful of episodes on NBC the year before.
I’m enthused it’s back on tv. (more…)

Primetime Network TV shines on CBS Thursdays with Survivor Samoa!!! |
OK, so that’s not a big suprise, is it?
Survivor’s latest season in Samoa is a big time winner and great fun to watch! I love this show!
While it is mainly power playing dudes left in the game – we still have a few ladies who are surviving!
I’m still disappointed some of the lovliest lady contestants have already been voted off, but at least we still have a few beauties competing for the million dollar prize! (more…)
Big Brother 11′s Jordan is the Big Winner
Big Brother Picks a Winner!
![]() |
Ratings must be good for this past season of Big Brother 11! |
Big Brother 11 ended with Jordan getting more votes than Kevin in the series finale hich was more fun than most in recent memory.
I must admit I was happy to see Jordan get the big prize. Jeff, not to be left out, also got an America’s Choice check for 25 grand as the favorite vote getter. That’s cool too! Right on Jeff! You played the best game!
Kevin got the runner up prize and Natalie was completely out of the running. She was too cocky and it was nice to see Jordan rise above her.
Well… they are casting or another season so I giess that means Big Brother 12 will be hitting the screens next Summer! Unless of course they suprise us again with another season before then as they did in the past! You can nevr have too many Big Brother’s each year!
The Problem With Big Brother
WHAT is the Problem With Big Brother?
OK, so that’s a snotty way to start a piece – by ragging on the almighty Big Brother…
I know… But hey – it happens every time the Big Brother show winds down to the end of the season. The trouble with Big Brother is that it gets boring towards the end and I almost lose interest.
Actually it happens to almost all reality tv shows that GET RID of the ‘contestants” or in Big Brother’s case – the houseguests.
It never fails to happen in Reality TV. Survival of the fittest is not always applicable.
As the better players, and often most attractive ones, and even the more highly “spirited” ones get knocked off the shows, the drama goes with them and things get a little lame at times.
Take the current installment of Big Brother 11. While it is still a good tv show and each episode has it’s moments, it has been getting more and more weak the past few episodes.
We’re near the end and it’s down to Jordan, Natalie, Michelle and the gay guy and it’s boring!
OH yes, his name is Kevin…Sorry!
Sure, they opened Pandora’s box and Natalie was hooked up with her boyfriend who proposed to her but soooo what! And then she lied – poorly… mild drama at best.
So – what is goin on now in the BB11 house??? (more…)
TV Guide Channel Gets Worse
OK… so you may not think that the TV Guide Channel can drop any lower than it already is – but they have been replacing their regular running shows with Michael Jackson crap and it is beyond being just a bad joke.
Reality Chat, or whatever their program was called keeps getting replaced. I think the show is now gone.
This network is so bad it is destined to run paid programming 24/7 at the rate they are going.
Wake up guys – you can’t just shove the same Michael Jackson crap at you viewers over and over and take away what little original programs you had running. That kind of stuff pisses off the viewer :’>
The Big Brother 11 House is going after the Sexy Ladies
Being beautiful is not always an asset on reality tv shows such as Big Brother 11 on CBS.
Is it just me, or does it seem like in most, if not all, reality TV shows, the hottest ladies always go home sooner than later??? If you are good looking and on a reality TV show – odds are you’ll be leaving early in the season.
Maybe it’s just my male perspective that dwells on the fact that the ladies are being targeted for eviction on Big Brother 11, but the TV commercials are milking this fact. Two hot babes – which one will go??? The commercials running for Big Brother 11 on CBS are billing the next episode as “The bikini model and the girl next door are up for eviction… Who will go home???”
The “girl next door” is Jordan and the “Bikini Model” is Laura.
While I initially liked Jordan more than Laura, I must say Laura quickly grew on me as she had more to her than just her looks. She was actually kind of shrewd and somewhat smart. Not rocket scientist smart, but “street smart”. Jordan on the other hand is charming and cuddly and oh so tanned, but she is as dumb as a rock.
Just this past episode the BB11 producers treated us to a conversation between Jeff and Jordan that was hard to swallow. She could not get a handle on how to tell time. Really. She couldn’t get the quarter hour thing and kept saying that a quarter hour was 25 minutes. Even after Jeff helped her cut 60 in half and then 30 in half – he asked how many minutes in a quarter hour and she said 25. She was confused that an hour was 100 minutes I reckon… wow…
Now don’t get me wrong… I was all flushed and beet red and laughing as she got herself all confused over how to tell time, but man, are there really people out there in the USA that are dumber than the Jay Walkers on the Tonight Show??? Apparently so.
But that’s ok, as Jordan is nice and cute and I’d still cuddle her, although trust me; I’d be smart enough not to make the conversation too heavy. Now, I heard some talk that she had a boob job, and noticing her physique I am perplexed because as it looks from my view, she has some odd shaped boobage. Maybe she just has some old style Jayne Mansfield/Madonna type bra on, but her cones don’t go where you’d expect them. Just a little side note.
And while we’re on the subject of the phys-assets of the 2 girls, who can avoid pairing up Laura and her giganto jugs. I mean – yes – you can look at ‘em all you want, but Laura seems more fixated on them than we are (I’m not the only one am I). She seems to have a chip on her shoulder and is just too worried people are not taking her seriously because she has abnormally large boobs and is constantly showing that wondrous cleavage gap so we can’t help but keep them out of our awareness.
Now, if that isn’t un-natural enough, I must say that Laura has one of the worst cases of an UPSIDE down smile I have ever seen. Laura is very pretty when she smiles and laughs but she is constantly sporting a frown. A big anti-smile. That’s just not natural! Smile girlfriend!
OK – so I got that stuff off my chest. I like those 2 gals. Jordan is sweet and Laura is smart and interesting in her own way. I can’ say that about very many of the other houseguests. (more…)

Reality TV kicks butt in the Summer!

American Reality TV has gotten one thing right and that is the Big Brother show on CBS!
The all new Big Brother 11 is launching this week and I can’t wait! It’s always one of my favorite shows and with 3 episodes a week – it always manages to take over my Tivo! Add to the the 3 hour Big Brother After Dark on Showtime (Showtoo) and you’ve got a clogged DVR laoded with stuff to watch!
If you want to get a tour of the new Big Brother house – be sure to check out CBS’s the Early Show as they are giving tour this week on one of their episodes. It may be today’s show – I’m not sure. YOU can likely find it on youtube :’>
Along with reality tv hostess Julie Chen, we have an all new roster of contestants/houseguests, one of them touted as a “bikini model”. Her name is Laura and BIKINI is her misddle name.
The Big Brother 11 Cast includes: Braden, Casey, Chima, Jeff, Jordan, Kevin, Laura, Lydia, Michele, Natalie, Ronnie and Russell

Deepak Chopra on Michael Jackson
Deepak Chopra on Michael Jackson
You must read this post over at Celeb Robot.
Excerpt:
“Deepak indicated that Michael was an on and off again friend who would regularly disappear and change numbers and such. Apparently though Michael was excited about his new music and sent Deppak a tune to go over and help with. Also noted was that Deepak confronted Michael on several occasions about getting away from presciption drugs.”

I’m a Celebrity – you jerk – get me out of here!
NBC was criticized for bringing back a loser of a show when they set up a new version of “I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here” a few weeks ago.
I admit I was going to pass on it but somehow ran across it as it was being shown and I must admit I was sucked in right away.
Mainly because Heidi and Spencer were such primadonna idiots! It was fun! And then they left and came back and by then I was actually enjoying the show.
Hey – I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here – is FUN!
Now, I am not going to analyze it or go on much further, but I will say that the cast is really good – better than you would imagine. They almost all have flaws and show their weaknesses.
Sanjaya has really stood out as likeable. Same with Torrie.
In any event – there is another week to go I believe – check out I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here on NBC!
New Celebrity Apprentice Joan is dispicable
The new Celebrity Apprentice Joan Rivers is despicable, and Annie Duke is the loser!
![]() |
Man… Just when I thought I could not be phased by a reality tv show pulling and tugging at my strings – along comes the final season finale episode of the Celebrity Apprentice last night, which was a mind blower. |
Without getting too deep into the details, let’s just focus for a moment on the winner and loser of last nights final episode, which was a 3 hour blend of live footage at a museum ballroom and edited footage of the final task for the season.
Annie Duke, the poker player and Joan RIvers, the sleazebag, faced off to let us find the winner of this season’s Celebrity Apprentice. Joan Rivers somehow managed to come through as the winner.
For me that was a tremendous disappointment and actually made the last 15 or so minutes of the show a vocal yelling exercise for me as I watched the far superior Annie Duke start to go down in flames in what became an apparent bias towards Joan Rivers. (more…)
American Idol Booted 2 Contestants This Week
On American Idol 8 results show this week, two persons will be eliminated due to the judge’s save last week. Who do you think was voted off last night? Lots of vote came in, about 45 million. This week’s Idol results episode delivered something a little different for the opening number. Rather than the usual group number, in which the contestants sing live and do a few basic dance steps, we got a lip-synced performance as the contestants performed a dance routine choreographed by Paula Abdul.
They sang the song Shake Your Body Down To the Ground from the disco era. Then the contestants gave Paula flowers to show their gratitude for being their choreographer for last night’s opening number.
Another Ford video was launch and its entitled I’m Good, I’m Gone. Seems like the Top 7 enjoyed the making of the video so much. Quality is good but not as good as last week.
Then reality hit again. Lil Rounds must have done something to tick off someone important (Simon Cowell?) at American Idol. Rounds was dispatched faster than anyone in the history of the show Wednesday night. She was the first one asked to stand. Without drawing things out, Ryan Seacrest took her to one side of the stage and told her that her American Idol journey was over. That part is kinda annoying because of the way they dispatched the singer but almost all see it coming.
