Amazing Race 13 Finale Results: Nick And Starr Won On The Final Race Across Portland
The Amazing Race 13 has come to its finale leg and three teams are going to race to get the million dollars reward. Who will take the lead among the three? Will Nick and Starr maintain their last leg winning streak or will Ken and Tina pass them up or the frat boys Dan and Andrew change their luck and be the lucky guys to win this race? We’ll find out on the Amazing Race 13 Final Episode.
At 10:55pm Nick and Starr are the first to leave Moscow, Russia for their next and final destination, Portland, Oregon. Andrew and Dan followed, and Ken and Tina are the last one to leave the Russian City. They’ve gone to the airport and have booked the same flights at Lufthansa airlines. From Moscow they are going 5,000 miles to the city of Portland.
Arriving at the airport, all the teams race to the taxis waiting to their first destination, a park in Nuremberg where they are going to encounter their Detour.
The Detour is consist of the following options:
High and Dry – The team members must climb 30 ft up a tree to a log suspended in the air that they must walk across and then grab half of their clue in a suspended trapeze
Low and Wet – The teams must walk 850 ft across a river on a floating log.
The last option is the easier tasks because you only need balance and a quick feet to finished the task while the first option needs endurance and of course the teams must kill their fright of heights. However, no one ever choose the second option.
Ken and Tina are the first to arrive and chooses High and Dry. Tina was very worried because she is afraid of heights. While Ken is on the ready to climb the tree, Nick and Starr arrived. The teams are neck to neck with Nick and Ken on both trees. However, Ken and Tina fall behind because of Tina’s resistance to cross the beam. Nick and Starr are the first ones to leave the Detour and grab their next clue which pointed them to the Bridge of the Gods to find their next clue.
Ken and Tina are right behind Nick and Starr and eventually pulled ahead of the siblings in no time. At the bridge the teams must take a 2,000 ft zip line to reach an island where they will find their next clue. Tina cross the line first followed by Ken even though she’s afraid of height. She end up enjoying the ride. While Ken is zipping up for his turn, Nick and Starr arrive and waited for their own. At the other side, Ken and Tina read their next clue. Their next tasks is a history game based on their last destinations and game parts. They need to fill the board with the appropriate pictures from 150 clue boxes across the fields. There are 10 picture questions to be filled in and Ken and Tina struggled to find the right picture to the boxes. While the couple are on this task, Nick and Starr arrived and race to keep up with the separated couple.
Though Ken and Tina are ahead first, Nick and Starr managed to pull ahead. Their next destination is to look for a green dinosaur in the Portland Building located in downtown Portland. Ken and Tina and Nick and Starr are neck to neck once again but the cab driver of the siblings manages to find the closest route to the building and pulled up exactly in front of the green dinosaur. Nick and Starr had no problems finding that one. Once they got there, they took their next clue in which they have to find a Russian food cart in Alder St. which is 3-4 blocks away from the Portland Building. The siblings look for the cart on foot. At the meantime, Ken and Tina manages to find the green dinosaur.
Nick and Starr have found the right Russian cart where they find their next clue. The clue dictates to find a place where “Magic is in the hole”. The siblings have found their piece of luck when the guy they question knows the place. “Voodoo Doughnuts” has that punchline and Thanks God That Guy likes doughnuts!
As the siblings look for the Voodoo Doughnuts with the guys directions in mind, Ken and Tina found the Russian cart and came asking questions where might be the place to find the Magic is in the hole. A woman sitting next to the cart gave them directions and off they went to look for the place. Nick and Starr got to the shop first and got their clue to the next pitstop. However, they have trouble finding a taxi to take them to their 1 million dollar prize. As Nick and Starr look for a taxi, Ken and Tina arrived at the doughnut shop and got their clue. They too have the same taxi problems with the siblings.
Both teams got a taxi simultaneously and prays they will get to the finish line first. At the pitstop, host Phil is waiting with the eliminated teams on the race (Toni and Dallas were missing). A taxi pulled up, and Nick and Starr came running towards Phil. They are the grand prize winner of the Amazing Race 13. Next, came Ken and Tina who were second place but took the spotlight when Ken offered Tina to wear their wedding rings once again. Well, the frat boys came lasts, but still proud to be included on the top 3.
