Amazing Race 13 – The Race Is On, On Bolivia
Amazing Race 13 finished the 3rd leg of the rest last Sunday. Destination of the racers: Bolivia. Some of the pairs think that the others are trying to sabotage them, maybe due to the high altitude of the place or because of the pressure that’s gathering on the race itself. Its a very close race to the pit stop and the last pair to arrive or check in might be eliminated from the race.
The first pair to depart from Fortaleza to La Paz, Bolivia was Ken and Tina. All teams depart through one of the two planes which left at the same time. Bolivia is a high altitude country and because of this the team players had a hard time breathing when they arrived at La Paz.
After arriving on La Paz, the pairs must camp out on the side of the road until morning and wait for the newspaper delivery to arrived.
Their next clue were hidden on the classified ads section of the newspaper. Their next clue pointed them to look for a hat shop. Some of the pairs get stuck on traffic and some had found a local and try to search for the hat shop by walking. When they made their journey to the next clue the reached a detour challenge.
The first one is “Musical March” – wherein the pair should go to the plaza by walking and look for a marching band and follow the band for their next clue. The second detour option is called “Bumpy Ride” wherein the pair should take a locally made bicycle and then ride the cobblestones street and through the whole city to look for the clue. And this detour challenge had a UTURN option in it wherein you can send another team back from the start of the challenge again.
Almost all team selected the Bumpy Ride challenge. Mark and Bill are the first to arrive and selected no to use the UTURN. Some of the team even ask the other teams to use ti UTURN option on the remaining teams that has not yet arrived.
After that the next stop is at Los Titanis wherein the pairs should ride a taxi to get into the place. Lots of hindrances came the racers ways. The taxi ridden by Mark and Bill had stop for gas and the pair had been extremely frustrated for the interruption and they lose their lead. Aja and Ty look for a new taxi when their taxi overheated. The traffic is so bad too, that Terrence and Sarah decided to walk to Los Titanis instead. The first to arrive on the stop is the team of Ken and Tina and they have encountered the leg’s road block.
The Road Block must be played by only one person. The player must change into a wrestling uniform and then must have a wrestling lesson with a female wrestler ( Cholita). Then they must master six wrestling moves and show their newly acquired skills in front of an audience. If they fail to execute the right moves, they have to start all over again. Ken is the first one to take the challenge and complete it with ease.
Dallas has no qualms whatsoever because he is a wrestler at their hometown. Nick and Ty finished the challenge with no problems while Mark and Brooke failed and repeated their challenges. Then the race to the race’s pitstop –
Mirador hilltop – the first team to arrive was Ken and Tina and they have gained a trip to Cabo, San Lucas as a reward. Toni and Dallas are team two, followed by Terrence / Sarah, Marisa /Brooke, Aja / Ty, Nick / Starr, and Andrew / Dan. Mark and Bill get penalized with a thirty minute time delay for using a taxi during the detour, so they can not check in. Kelly and Christy know they are the last to arrive and when they get to the pit stop, they are told that they are actually still in the race because of Mark and Bill’s time delay.
