American Idol ’09 Top 13 First Elimination Night
Last night the Top 13 Finalist of American Idol performed for the first time on Idol ’09. With the heart stopping performances, Simon’s criticism and the fans howling 2 of the top 13 had been eliminated tonight. Also a new rule has been announced which involves the judges. Know more by reading this entry until the end.
33 million votes had came in last night for the first performance night of the American Idol Top 13. So the bottom two contestants who got the lowest votes will be elimated from American Idol.
Host Ryan Seacrest explained the new rule for everyone. Its called the Judges Save. The judges can use this rule to save a contestant once and only once until the Top 5. Once they use it, the save cannot be used again the entire season. The week they use the save, no one will be eliminated but the next week two will go. Simon Cowell commented that it is not necessary reversing America’s decision.
Then the audience have been given a glimpse on how the contestants are treated by the Idol management. They are living in a mansion, complete with amenities which they can use anytime they want. What a glorious opportunity for them, right?
Then the contestants sang a medley from the Jackson 5 for their group song. The rest of the contestant assisted Scott on their dancing and movements which is fantastic and touching.
Ryan Seacrest reminded us of all of our favorite performances from last night and then they show the top 13’s new Ford Fusion video/commercial. It’s We Will Rock You and it does rock!
Then he called up Michael Sarver first and declared that he is safe. Same with 16 years old – Allison Iraheta. Jasmine Murray had been called and told to stay in the center of the stage. Matt Giraud was also safe. Then Kris Allen and Megan JOy Corkey had been asked to stand. Then Megan was told to stay with Jasmine at the center of the stage.
Ryan Seacrest then told the two girls that Jasmine Murray was not safe this evening and would be going home unless the judges use their Judges Save tonight to keep her around another week.
After Jasmine Murray sang one more time, Ryan Seacrest asked the judges if they were going to save her this evening and Randy Jackson told her that the judges talked about it and they were sorry, but she was going home. They showed her journey montage as Carrie Underwood’s new song Home Sweet Home played.
Kanye West was introduced and sang Heartless.
Next Scott MacIntrye is up next and he is safe along with Alexis Grace, Danny Gokey, Adam Lambert and Lil Rounds.
In the second bottom two tonight are Anoop Dog Desai and Jorge Nunez.
As the two guys await their fate, Ryan Seacrest says that each week American Idol will be showcasing former American Idol contestants and then brings out Kelly Clarkson who goes on to sing My Life Would Suck Without You. The crowd is on its feet as she belts out her new tune.
Finally, we find out who had the least amount of votes last night and after 33 million votes, Anoop Desai is safe!! Jorge Nunez sings again and then Ryan Seacrest asked Simon Cowell if the judges are going to save Jorge Nunez and Simon Cowell tells him no with a big, “Sorry.”
