American Idol Season 8 – 2nd Elimination Night!
Its the second elimination night for American Idol Season 8. Lots of surprises will be showcased tonight including a performance by country stay Brad Paisley and of course American Idol’s own Carrie Underwood who had recently been inducted in the Grand Ole Pry group as invited by country star Randy Travis. Randy who’s been the one who visited the American Idol contestants this week had been amazed with the potential and talents of the participants. He will have a duet with Carrie tonight.
The show kick off with the Top 11 singing Trouble by Travis Tritt as a group performance. Then the new music video of Ford “Here It Goes Again” was watched as the participants played with water balloons. They have shared that the experience of taping the music video was really a lot of fun. Then Ryan showed a montage of what goes behind the scenes when a contestant was eliminated as what happened to Jasmine and Jorge last week.
Now, its time to call the bottom three. Ryan called Danny Gokey, Lil Rounds and Anoop Desai. They are safe this week and will be accompanying the Top 10 on the American Idol summer tour. Then Michael Sarver and Allison Iraheta were told to stand up. Ryan asked for Paula Abdul thought on whom she thinks who’s the one between the two that is included in the bottom three. Then Paula said it was Allison. Ryan agreed with her and announced that Allison is indeed in the bottom three. But wait Michael is not safe too. He will accompany Allison in taking the stool because they are not safe.
Then country star Brad Paisley grace the stage with his new song entitled “Then”. Ryan made a joke after the performance that America has voted and Brad is a superstar!
Its time for the last person who is not safe to be called out. Scott Mcintyre was called and was announced that he should pack his bag for the summer tour because he is safe. Then Megan Joy Corkey was called and was told that she is also safe as with Matt Giraud who’s in the spotlight on the performance night. Then Kris was also told he was safe. Then Adam lambert and Alexis Grace were told to move forward. Then Ryan ask Randy Jackson’s opinion who will get the spot on the bottom three tonight and he guesses that it will be Alexis Grace. And he is right.
The bottom three includes Allison, Michael and Alexis. And Ryan announced that he will be bringing one of them out of their misery. And he said that Allison Iraheta was safe along with the other 9 contestants.
Then the latest Grand Ole Pry inductee was called to perform tonight. It was Carrie Underwood and she sang a duet with Randy Travis, “I Told You So”. The audience were screaming their lungs off when Carrie came out and she’s glad to be back where it all began for her, the Idol stage.
After the exhilarating performance, Ryan asked Simon if the judges considered the two remaining contestants to be worth saving. Simon told him that they considered one of them to be worth a try.
Its time for the announcement! Ryan read the results and announced that Michael Sarver was safe! Then Simon Cowell told Alexis that she’s the one they considered to be worth saving – the judgement will be after her performance. Then Alexis sing Jolene for the second time.
After that, Simon told her that the judges reached a decision. Her performance was good but not good enough to be worth the save. Its bye bye time to Alexis Grace! Paula told her that she’ll have a bright future ahead of her and she son’t have to be discourage with the outcome of the elimination night. See you next week on American Idol!
