Come Down Off Cross, You
Come Down Off the Cross, We Need the Wood by Roxanne McDonald

And the martyrdom begins as the shifting sympathies pitifully continue. |
Jen gets cocky: not worried about being on the block–
for as the previous two weeks have shown, she says, she is still
there…and will be for the next two.
So she thinks.
Then again, given the wishy-washy crap you guys are pulling, she just might be right, not because people like her in the Big Brother House but because they seem to tend toward scapegoatism [yeah, I made it up; yeah I know no such word] and shifting sympathies more often than Brian Vickers shifts gears.
So the least likable, the least deserving, the most inimical snake their way to the top while you are busy focusing on the more innocuous.
What the hell, Dick? You are so not doing much to keep Jen’s ego in check. Sure, you started the day by scowling at her taunting “Hiyee” dance, and told her that trust you, it was not her beauty you were glaring at. You told her she was going home because nobody likes her….
And then, what? Because she won the PoV you got all squirrely and squeamish about the possibility that Jen would indeed be staying? Did you suck up to her because you were truly focused on being humane to everyone? Or because you wanted to get that last vote against poor scapegoated Eric? Or did you just go into a momentary coma, and are now covering tracks by saying, “How’s THAT for flipping…flipping over the LNC?”?
This is getting messy, man, and you have disappointed us by going off on Eric, getting all vengeful in a different direction, and showing some uncharacteristic kindness in your “truce” with Hagglepuss.
Now Jameka is obviously going to have to vote to keep Kail, unless she too flips and goes against her pre-ordained theory; Jen will buckle and vote Eric out; and you and Daniele might just stay true to homeostasis long enough to do the same [though you both are so enigmatic at this point I don’t know if you are really wily or really fickle—both dangerous].
That’s 4. But there are also 4 more: Dustin, Amber, Jess, and Zach. Might there be a tie?
Zach has boasted of being the go-along guy, but who will he go along with? Jess is another fickle finger of fate, as she is sneaky but not smart enough to plot and stick with it, so she could go either way. And if Amber remembers how it feels to be attacked as a “liar” and if she and Dustin stay tight, they
might just vote to keep Eric…also to spite Daniele and you, who they seem to want out [though it was mighty dumb of Dustin to suggest it to your very daughter].
I am so afraid that the human tendency to prefer all the vitriol [falsely incited] be directed away from the Self and onto the Other is such a guaranteed dialectic that Eric is on his way out the door.
When you have a ditsy, whiney child stating that Eric has been the mastermind [and that’s a bad thing? uh, Daniele, don’t you have a BOYfriend back home? Why the fealty to Taxi Driver?], you know the house is going to listen…only only only because she is HoH.
Danielle is our new Janelle, so she will be around for quite some time to come. Jameka is protected by her God. And Jen is protected by the Frederick’s of Hollywood gods.
So with 1) scapegoating [there, feel better linguistic purists?] the coward’s way out; 2) your vicious tendencies combined with your so-not-to-be-trusted game-switching; and 3) fewer and fewer high profile peeps to pick on, you may be next, Dick.
And people out here, on the outside, are gonna be pissed if that is the case.
