Oh Happy Day: Dick and Daniele Deserve the Win! Well, Dick Does, Anyway by Roxanne McDonald
![]() |
That’s what we think—we being not the royal we but the we the friends in this house, we the neighbors in this area…. |
There were many reasons this typically reclusive writer liked her new neighbor, but when she realized the neighbor was
also a Big Brother fanatic, well, the friendship galvanized. Even better, she, my neighbor agrees with me that Dick and Daniele deserve the win this season.
Actually, both of us agree wholeheartedly that Dick should get it.
I write this on Tuesday afternoon, a few long hours before the Big Brother finale, and after many hours of watching only the live, primetime, what-BB-allows-us-to watch episodes, plus one hour of the spoiler live-cam Showtime2 material [which made me nuts, watching Daniele roll each one of her tee shirts up for minute after minute after minute].
Here’s the logic behind our vote, if we had one:
Dick is first of all one of the most needful of the prize money. But that alone is not a prerequisite for deserving it, we know, we know, so….
So next, Dick is direct. He has openly, boldly, directly stated his case, playing his game just as strategically but slightly less maliciously as Evil Will or Evil Boogie Mike, Mike Boogie, whoever. Forget, yes, how he did a couple of ridiculous (but, sorry, funny) moves like dump iced drink on ice queen head. And forget Zach saying he has played the best game. Uh. No. Dick has. [True, would have been Eric’s, here, instead of Dick’s, were he not straightjacketed by his role as AmERICa.]
But more realistically thinking—as my neighbor friend reasoned—Dick should win over Daniele. Because Daniele would so not share as much of the big prize as Dick would. He really loves his daughter (and yes, that threw something in the works for BB when the rivalry turned
more reuniting and bonding than slandering slapdown family fighting). And she, well, she talks a good bit about having come a long way toward siding with her Dad but she also still harbors quite a bit of residual resentment over the past and we would bet she would, at the moment of receiving the first place dough/check, turn to her misunderstood Dad and say, here’s a pitiful share cause of what you did and said when I was five kind of thing.
Course, who really can predict, when this season alone the players have contradicted, rescinded, gone back on, back-stabbed, and back-doored more than most of the other installments put together?
In the first couple of weeks of this season of Big Brother, I read the official CBS site postings from people all over writing to cheer Dick on. Then I met my neighbor who also had the bets down on Dick to win. At 11:25 a.m. PST, I want to put my money on the winner, too.
Now I am gonna go check out the spoilers and ruin my fun for the rest of the night.

I am so glad both father and daughter are in the final 2…..
That just shows you how good they work together. If i had to guess who wins, well, i would have to say dick. Don’t get me wrong Daniele played the best game ever but her attitude stinks towards her dad. He will be morethan happy to share what ever he wins but do you think she will????? NOT….. Well, can’t wait for the show tonight. I sure am going to miss all my BB8..Best of luck to them both……
