Big Brother All Stars Season Finale Recap for Tivo People

Big Brother All Stars Season Finale Recap for Tivo People by Roxanne McDonald

Big Brother All Stars It’s a surprise for those of you who have yet to watch your Tivo’ed Big Brother All Stars finale, so do not read this SPOILER if you want to keep the outcome a secret from yourself.

As you probably know, if you are a big fan of the show, Boogie and Erika, the showmance turned homance, are the final two in the BB House.

So, first, I would ask for a moment of silence for the past boy-girl flirtations that ended in the girl getting burned.

The finale began with a five-minute recap of significant moments in BB history.  After a shot of Erika and Boogie in formal regalia – Erika in black gown and Mike in derby and matching sport coat – we got a recap of exile island’s last guest: the jury members speculated on who was coming in next, and as he had done before, Marcellas dreaded out loud the arrival of the very person who showed up.

Though Howie and George, agreeing for once, think it’s Boogie, it is in fact Janelle.  She appears in red gown with tiara and does a presentation pose that puts showroom spokesmodels to shame.

Janelle explains who did what to whom and says Ericka is a “b-i-t-c-h,” eliciting agreement and much discussion.  It is also Janelle who says not to let a floater win, but Danielle, ever the voice of sanity, reminds them that when it is a boy villain he is glamorized but when it’s a girl who’s the villain she is “disgusting”.

Somebody notes how Erika was on the block three times, and though they all had the opportunity to vote her out they didn’t.  Dani reminds them that there are no rules about floating, or cheating, or even about being loyal to oneself.

Will speaks for Boogie (uuhv course), saying that he did what he needed to when he rode coattails, won competitions, etc..

James and Marcellas agree that they are all there because of how will and Boogie decided to play the game, and Will counters with how Erika disgusts him.  “Am I biased?” he asks.  “Absolutely.  They [Boogie and Erika] played a similar game, but Boogie’s was superior.”

Howie thinks Erika deserves to win.  George reminds them how they all believed Erika at one time or another and were turned against….

Marcellas gets self-pitying only for a second, making the point that most of them came in to the house alone and without the “advantage of a best friend.”  The others misinterpret, I think, believing he is pointing at the empowerment of Chilltowners, but I would bet he was also making one last jab at the best friendship between him and Janelle – which turned sour.

Will responds that he knew this would come up, and reiterates that it was a strategy he considers having worked quite well.  Danielle sums up by pleading with everyone to NOT take it personally when deciding and to consider best player.  All applaud at that.

Erika and Mike get one final chance to appeal to the jury, as if anything is going to change anyone’s mind at this late point, once they answer questions put them by each of the exiled jury members (those who went out in week six on…):

Marcellas: Strategically, what do you think was your best move during the game?
Erika: Convincing Janelle to vote out Will ….
Mike:  Keeping Jan in the game and aligning with her….

George: Boogie, will you ask for Erika’s hand in marriage just as you did with Krista [in season 2]?
Mike:  Thanks…say no…gotta keep my bromance with Will ….

George, to Erika: How do you think I felt [getting burned by your going against alliance/promise]?
Erika: explains how she had to keep Mike for reasons of strategy (yeeayuh, uh huh).

Will: Brrrring!  Brrring! [Everyone laughs.]
Boogie: Hello?
Will: Are you in the final TWO??!!
Mutual laughs….

Janelle to Erika: Was kissing butt and throwing competitions your strategy?
Erika: I had to keep with Danielle, as we had similar strategy, [then] I really tried to keep you on….  I hope you respect my game….

James: asks similar question to Erika about her hooking up and floating as strategy and why he should vote for her.

Erika replies that she didn’t WANT to hook up, etc, and again, hopes he will respect, etc. etc….

Danielle, to Erika: Was it your decision or Chilltown’s to get rid of me?
Erika: Yes, I made them think it was their idea, but you were the second strongest player in this house, so I had to get you out.

Danielle: asks similar question to Boogie.
Mike: When you watch your Tivo, if you don’t find more than one Jason, I’ll give you half [of my winnings]….

Howie: asks Mike about how he cost him a vote….
Mike: I looked at your arms…bloody….  You were the most entertaining….  I was responsible for getting you out {did so in a minute].

Paraphrase of final speeches:

Erika:  I didn’t know how I was going to play.  I had to go after the puppet master.  I couldn’t, as he had a lot of puppets protecting him.  I went after Janelle; didn’t think I could get her, cause he had her so tightly wrapped around him….  Would you rather give the crown to the one who did his dirty work or to the one who got him out?

Mike Boogie: You were all members of Chilltown….  I want to thank Howie and Marcellas – you entertained me.  Janelle and James, you challenged me.  Danielle and George, you inspired me.  Will you did all of that.  I humbly ask for your vote for me for Big Brother 7.

With the crowd cheering and showing signs that read “Chilltown.” “How Would Howie Vote,” and “Bunky” (uhhh, did this person just wake up from a verrrry looooong nap?!?), it was time to vote.  And without, Julie reminds them, revealing their decision, they each may address with one last statement.

Marcellas: Congratulates and says it is just a game and no hard feelings are left.  He jokes that he is surprised that of all of them, these two are the ones left, and comments that he voted based on their answers to his questions.

Howie: Tries to joke that it is hard to justify voting for one who owns six restaurants and a bowling alley, and all, and tells Erika that he still loves her but unfortunately America hates her.  As he plugs in his key he says if anyone wants to discuss the matter further thay can go to his website.

Danielle: First comments how she is not used to this, and then notes that all the past BB winners played perfect games with strategy, winning competitions, devotion, deception, and ultimate floating.

George: Congratulates them both and smiles.  Then recalls how BB1 was a completely different game.  He remembers watching the final show then and thinking why didn’t they just vote for the one who needed the money the most, but tonight admits that he understands differently and is voting to give the money to the player who played the best game.

Will steps up – and the crowd goes wild!  He says to Mike that 5 years ago he was instrumental with helping him [Will] win BB2.  A lot has changed, he adds, but the one thing that won’t change is that Boogie will always be his best.  And to Erika, Will says she can always call him the “puppet master.”

Janelle: Her vote tonight, she says, a lot of people will think is for personal reasons.  But it certainly is not, she insists, and says she has voted for the best player.

James: Congratulates them both.  Then recalls how in his last week in the house he had gone to both for help.  One, he says, would not help for reasons of strategy.  Still, he assures them, his vote was for the one he thought played the best.

So they DID heed the wise advice of Danielle, after all!

Diary Room comments are played, and the faces of the jury are even more unhappy.  Then Kaysar, Nakomis, Jase, Diane, and Alison are reunited with the others.  Julie reminds us that they have been able to watch ALL the shows, and asks them if they have responses they would like to share.

Kaysar tells Jan how someone came in this season with a “chip on his shoulder,” and Julie shows clips of James in the DR calling Janelle fat, stupid, and the dumbest player ever.

Asked about Chilltown, Jase begins a response with how his mom has a CT (which is also __teaser, if you ask this BB fan) tee shirt.  Then Jase pulls the most clever move of the night:  he goes, “Brrring!  Brrrring!”  Kaysar fake answers, hands the phone to Diane.  Jase says,”Hello, Mrs. Smith.”  He then asks her if she knew everyone thought they were in an alliance [referring to the Mr. and Mrs. Smith/ Jolie Pitt thing].  Diane asks why in the world they would think that, and Jase says, “Because we WERE!!! AHHHAAAHHHAAAA.  And so the mockery comes full circle, adding a delightful, playful tone to the night.

This lampooning introduces the next clip – of Boogie and Will in the DR revealing how they used the women, got them to boot best friends, etc., and Janelle is looking BUMMED while Erika is stone-faced.

Julie asks the first five to be evicted if the two sitting in the house are the ones most deserving to be there, and most say no.  Nakomis says it should be Will and Janelle.

Alison is prompted to speak up, and says she’d really like to tell Erika she was played all summer.  She then does so, then goes on to Boogie, to whom she says, “Congratulations to you; you played that girl the whole season.  Hope you use that money to buy some dignity.”

The boldest of jabs is accompanied by clips of Erika and Boogie alone and together, and by Erika adding she is still in the final two and Boogie repeating her comment that they “played each other.”

And the PLAYAH of the season is… BOOGIE MAN! Though we will recall that a previous BB winner took them all on a trip, all expenses paid, we KNOW that aint gonna happen with Boogie.  He is going to pay back Will with the jet ski and jewelry his bromance partner gifted him. Buy stuff for his family and friends back home, and do something [more?] with the restaurant biz.

Erika is excited she won 50 grand but is obviously bummed she has turned so many away and has been duped by the co-puppeteer, and is, she admits, “relieved it’s over.”

Wellllll, we BB fanatics are not necessarily thrilled it’s over.  In fact, I’m jonesing for the next installment of the next season, for which they are doing tryouts, peeps.  Any more Wiley Wills or Bastardly Boogers out there?
