Big Brother fans and aficionados knew it was coming, but we didn’t anticipate it would come from the source it did.
The Tuesday, August 29, 2006 episode of BB7 has brought Danielle down. |
Will nudges Janelle to talk to Erika.
Janelle tells Erika she won’t go after her (Erika) next week:
Erika: Hmmm. I think I’ll take that deal.
Janelle: I think she believed me.
The final six haven’t even played out the PoV competition and already they are scheming and negotiating (and banking on the fact that Janelle, on the block with Georgie, will win the PoV). Will speaks in the Diary Room to the fact that his and Danielle’s relationship is a strange one: he doesn’t trust her, and she doesn’t trust him. In the same respect, Danielle speaks to how “somethin’s goin’ on” with Chill Town.
Will reinforces our understanding of how all-powerful he is, saying, “I made the whole house go on slop for a week so I could get a trampoline. Selfish? Hell yes.”
Janelle wins PoV. Imagine that. And as we would expect or hope, Danielle and Erika meet to consider post-PoV strategy. But Erika does make sense back in the DR, saying that it “all comes down to who I think I can beat in the end.”
Bringing much-needed distraction and Xmas in August, enter Neil Patrick Harris (formerly precocious ten-year-old doctor, Doogie Howser, cameo star of Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle, and comic relief on How I Met Your Mother). Will is of course thrilled, and the others are delighted. (Who wouldn’t be? Neil Patrick Harris is a doll, telling the remaining six when he arrives that he feels like HE has won some kind of contest to get into the BB7 house, then later empathizing with the houseguests when he, too, eats the slop and says, “Wow. This is all kinds of nasty.”)
Harris gives George a Santa suit to wear, then ushers them all outside to give them Christmas gifts. Later, HE goes to the Diary Room and tells us how the residents got clothes which they apparently needed, for if he “sees Boogie wear a Dolce shirt one more time …” He also notes how lovely he thinks Janelle is, saying she has a sort of radiance.
Though they are of course bummed he has to go, Neil leaves. In the weight room George tells a story to Boogie and Will of being hit by lightning, which gives the dastardly duo more discussion material and a confirmation of why George is the way he is (as the camera shows George in various past outfits, including a metallic / tin foil number that can only suggest efforts to repel aliens and outside psychological noise).
The PoV competition commences, a game called “Two-faced”, wherein the guests must serially match face parts of two former players. Guess who wins? Yes, Janelle, and she soon after tells Erika what Erika wants to hear: Erika says how she doesn’t know what to do (forgetting her numerous promises to Danielle to keep her safe – for example, the minute she won HoH she turned to Dani and said, “You’re safe!”)
Janelle must be learning from Will and Boogie, for she says, “I’m not working with anyone, but as I told you, I won’t [put you up / go against you] next week. So I look forward to working with you.”
How’s THAT for tautological b.s.? Will and Boogie have built another follower, and her name is Janelle. Now they have indirectly (as always) created a sister monster, Erika, which they chalk up to showmance on Boogie’s part.
And as ever, both are overconfident, overexcited, and overjoyed: together in the DR, they have one of their air cell phone chats. Will brrringg-brinngs Boogie, asking if he remembers how a few weeks back he got Janelle to put up her best friend and how he went home … and now, how they have done it again, have gotten Erika to turn on her best friend in the BB house. It breaks Dani’s heart. As it of course would.
Fear not, Danielle. We will just vote you back in to whatever BB thing they create next. You made it further this time than you did last, so next time you will make it even further than this.

Huh? Danielle made it to the final two in her season beat only by Lisa… the winner. How did she make it further this time? How can she make it further next time without winning it all? I’m confused.

Huh? How can Danielle go futher than she already has? If she is evicted, she would have not made it as far as she did in her season. Last time. she made the final two, losing to Lisa who was the winner. I’m confused.
