Dancing with the Stars - is it Must See TV?
Dancing with the Stars - is it Must See TV? by Roxanne McDonald

Dancing with the Stars, season three, is here, though I still have to air the only complaint I have – which is that the show is on TV at the same time as other really great, must-see shows. Arggh. |
But still, those of us who are fans of classical dance and / or are supporters of particular celebrities will be excited and anticipating the third round of beautiful costumes, beautiful choreography, and beautiful celebrity men and women who work their butts off to get in the groove of an art or talent they might not have to begin with.
Those of us who watched Tia Carrere move so gracefully along the learning curve of ballroom dance, or who witnessed Lisa Rinna evolve to as an impressive a dancer as she is a soap and film star, will be eager to watch the next newcomers to the dance floor.
Tom Bergeron and his co-host Samantha Harris will emcee the competition.
The stars who will be dancing and competing as eleven [often unlikely] couples, with seasoned and skilled and talented partners are as follows, so BE WARNED: SPOILER of sorts is coming:
Jerry Springer of number talk show fame, will partner with the winner of the Austrailian Dancing with the Stars, Kym Johnson.
Vivca A. Fox, the brilliant and beautiful actress of such films as Don’t be a Menace …, Soul Food, and Kill Bill, Vol.1 will dance with Nick Kosovich, the genius professional dancer who danced last season the still “adorable” Tatum O’Neal.
Political pundit and MSNBC news anchorman Tucker Carlson will compete with professional dancer Elena Grineko, who will be his partner this season (Lap Dance - Tucker already got the boot!).
The talented Monique Coleman, best known as the pop teen idol of High School Musical, will dance partnered with former partner to Lisa Rinna (season two) and Tricia Sutter (season one), Louis Van Amstel.
Rinna’s husband, and TV and movie star, Harry Hamlin will take to the dance floor with professional dancer Ashly Delgrosso, who did season one with Joey McIntyre and season two with Master P. Joey Lawrence, all-grown-up star of such legendary TV shows as Diff’rent Strokes, will take the stage with professional dancer Edyta Sliwinska, who was George Hamilton’s partner last year and Evander Holyfield’s partner the first season.
Sara Evans will take temporary leave of her Country Music fame and dance partnered with Tony Dovolani, the professional who danced with Stacy Keibler in season two.
The so self-named “Bad Girl of Pop” is scheduled to dance with Tia Carerre’s partner of last season, professional dancer Maksim Chmerkovskiy.
Beauty queen, actress, model, and reality TV personality Shanna Moakler will take to the dance floor with professional dancer Jesse DeSoto.
Mario Lopez, television emcee / host and screen actor will partner with professional dancer Karina Smirnoff.
And superstar NFL great, Super Bowl champ, Emmitt Smith, will try his skills at ballroom with professional dancer Cheryl Burke, who with Nick Lachey won last season’s Dancing with the Stars.
All that’s left for us to wonder is if the judges will be the same brilliant, direct, and supportive experts as last season.
