The 2 hour season finale of Lost was crammed full of… something.

OK, despite Lost on ABC making us ask more questions than it gives answers to - I must say I have been pretty enthralled this season. |
But now it’s all gone away as the 2 hour season finale came and went like a dynamo.
At first - I must admit - I simply deleted the show from Tivo - even though I was confused at the ending. The season finale was just too jumbled and covered too much.
I was confused and instead of thinking about it - I just deleted it and moved on. I was disappointed.
But the next day I started thinking about what happened. I tried to remember who died and who may not have died and why they died and why they ended on the flash forward of Jack and Kate - apparently rescued and in a future tiome and place - not together.
Too much information! You know - that is the big problem with Lost - too much information! They must have a committee of writers who are so committed to their OWN ideas that they end up with TOO MANY THINGS going on. Yes, I know - they’d argue that is what people like about the show BUT I’d say - why is it then that this season more then ever - I have had discussions with people who have “given up” or “stopped watching” or are not enthusiastic to talk about what happened like in previous seasons.
Don’t get me wrong - I like the show - I hate to rag on it - BUT - it could be so much better if they’d only focus on a few key storylines per episode. Also the flashbacks are getting to be huge distractions. So what if we learn about Jack and how he almost committed suicide (that was a flash forward by the way).
Or we learn about Sun and her father…
Lost could be so much better if they focused more on the people we really want to see in the show. Locke - they leave him out of full episodes??? Why? That’s not clever. That’s stupid!
And then they kill him - or leave him for dead - OK - and in the finale he comes back.
I did cheer when we found Locke was alive. But now he goes and kilss the gal with the cell phone. They are turning our heros into bad guys. They did it with Jack too. They set him up to be too sympathetic with “the others” and then lookie - Jack is now back as the leader.
So - I’ll stop whining now… but let’s just cover what happened in this show so I am straight on this… Otherwise it will just fall to the wayside and unless they give us good flashbacks next season - it will be gone for the most part…
Charlie and Desmond - they ened up in the underwater whatever it is (clever by the way) and the two chicks and the Russian dude get wasted - as in killed. But wait - they mysteriously vanish after being killed. Huh? Oh yes - this is tv - they can do that kind of stuff. And Charlie is drowning as Desmond watches. Why didn’t Charlie join Desmond and close the hatch instead of saving Des but sacrificing himself??? OH - that’s because Charlie will come back to life… or will he?
OK, and then there is the end where Jack sacrifices the 3 tribe mates and Ben has them killed - but they did not get killed - and Hurley saved the day with his van killing them, the others, (nice scene by the way - good twist) but then again - why should the ones they killed not come back from the dead - look out - they may rise again…
So - Jack beats up Ben - that was fun - and Locke comes back and shoots the gal so they can’t leave the island - or maybe - Ben was right about them… but hey… we saw Penny in the monitor of that underwater thing…
Oh boy… so may ideas… so many questions… so many unanswered thoughts… I am LOST!
But hey - I can’t wait till it comes back next year!
