It’s our turn!
We had the common folks competing for everything from people (dates, relationships, parents’ approval) to trips to cash to stuff.
Then we got the talent competitions—for big titles and big contracts.
It took us awhile, but we then got Rockstar I and II (INXS and SuperNova).
Now, after the celebreality craze has run its course, after years of reality television has brought on the talent and other competitions, and after Flava Flav has brought the superstar performer seeking love concept, we finally have the next hybrid: a gorgeous, talented ROCKER seeks love.
Evidently—according to Vh1 press releases and TV bloggers Reality TV World, the Futon Critic, and Sleaze Roxx, and others—Michaels’ rockin makes girlfriends jealous, and he now will do a specific and intended search for someone who is not intimidated by, does not feel neglected because of, or will not insist he change his rock lifestyle.
What a smart move.
The way Michaels will determine who can “hang…as a backstage VIP” is through several challenges he has set up. I only hope they involve his and other music. I saw a pic of him with Steve Tyler, and that got me hoping he will have
Aerosmith on for a cameo or some marginal involvement in one of the challenges. Hmmm. Maybe Bret can get all the hot rockers together, then have the girls/women “entertain” them, and spy on them to see who flirts, who is there for her own fame, etc., the way Flav did.
Then, instead of rump-shaking a classic, there might be one or two who do the “take off your top!” thing? Hmmm.
You know the “right” women will audition for the role (and the wrong will make for, as ever, good TV). Many, many have called and shown up for the casting calls. You also probably know some or all of Bret’s life story.
But for those who don’t, I gathered some info for his bio [on CD Music Robot] as well as for his astrological personality (in general). Put the two together, and you have the next “Bachelor”…or the first to put the pedal to the medal of rock and roll loooove on TV.

“Rock of Love” will premiere in July. Let’s hope it, too, rocks.
