And the irony, hypocrisy, or whatever you want to call it continues. |
Yeah, it’s reeeeally subtle irony, but take one Jenna Morasca [whom I am NOT about to bash, as she is awesome and is
one of my colleague’s all-time favs], nude. Add one Ethan Zone, nude. [Yeah, you can feel the temperatures arisin….] Put an apple in Jenna’s hand, and pose her as if she is about to seduce Ethan with it.
You have one of the oldest allusions in the history of mankind, but you also have a PETA poster, one which reads, “We’d rather go naked than wear fur.”
Now, all good. But then have some doorknob, some yahoo, audition for “Survivor: China” by trying to trump the other ten thousand [not actual number] auditioners by pulling a live rattlesnake from a case, skinning and eating it…alive.
I can’t even bear to go into more graphic details than this, but suffice it to say the debate is hotter than any naked hottie poster:
Jenna protested the disgusting stunt by Brent Scheibel, going to PETA , or, more accurately, The Humane Society of the United States, to halt the progress of Scheibel as a possible candidate for “Survivor; to hope for a prison term for the
freak, and to express not only concerns for the snake and all animals but speaking up in hopes that CBS deny him the chance to play.
The other side of the debacle speaks to how while it is technically considered animal abuse, venomous snakes are not counted as a species protected by such laws.
So the whole serpent as devil seducing Eve thing is irrelevant, Jenna is still livid, and you know that if there is any possibility of finding a loophole to get this guy on the show and being his scandalous ways with him to boost already top ratings, Jenna will not be getting her wishes met any time soon.
And yet, I wonder beyond that…. Who will speak up for the cockroaches and slugs that are [or were] downed by the handfuls on that very same show?
