According to Jenn Bresler of Reality News Online,
Celebrity Spider, and others, on Wednesday, June 6, 2007, the week before “Top Chef Miami” begins, season one and two contestants and winners will do a cook-off show. The “Top Chef: 4-Star All-Stars” hour-long episode will yield a truly “top” chef, while the winner’s prize money of $20,000
will go to his or her charity of choice.The following former contestants will compete, season one facing off against season two:
FROM SEASON ONE
Harold Dieterle – winner of Top Chef 1, Harold is a Culinary Institute of America graduate who has worked as sous chef at the Harrison restaurant in New York City and who now runs his own restaurant, Perilla, also in NYC.
Tiffany Faison – runner up of season one, Tiffany is a self-trained chef who has worked as chef de partie at Daniel Boulud’s Wynn Las Vegas restaurant, at the Tao restaurant in The Venetian (also in Las Vegas), and at The Straight Wharf in Nantucket, Massachusetts.
Dave Martin – Dave graduated with honors from Le Cordon Bleu in Pasadena, California. He has worked as executive chef at XO Wine Bistro, in Manhattan Beach.
Stephen Asprinio – from the Culinary Institute of America to a degree from Cornell University, Stephen came to “Top Chef” as a former sommelier for Nob Hill at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. He is said to have planned to launch his own restaurant concept, a “gourmet” quick-service restaurant and epicurean lifestyle boutique named FoodReal.
FROM SEASON TWOIlan Hall – winner of season two, Ilan studied at Lorenzo de Medici Apicus and the Culinary Institute of America. He has been a line cook at Al Lume de Candela, in Italy; Wine Spectator Greystone Restaurant, in St. Helena, California; and Aurcole, Casa Mono, and Craft, in New York City
Marcel Vigneron – runner up of season two, Marcel is master cook specializing in molecular gastronomy for Joel Robuchon. Marcel was trained at the Culinary Institute of America (attending the school at the same time as his nemesis, Ilan Hall).
Sam Talbot – second runner up with Elia Aboumrad, Sam got his education at Johnson and Wales University and has been executive chef at Black Duck, Williamsburg Café, and Punch, in New York City.
Elia Aboumrad – second runner up with Sam Talbot, Elia trained at Ecole Lenotre in Paris. She has worked as assistant room chef at The Hotel, in Las Vegas, Nevada, and specializes—using her 34 different culinary degrees—in several areas, among them chocolate making and French cuisine.
